Five products to look out for this month
1 Cambridge Audio AX series £229-£449 whf.cm/axseries
Despite focusing a great deal of attention lately on introducing its flagship Edge hi-fi range, Cambridge Audio hasn’t forgotten about the more modest end of the hi-fi market. The AX series comprises two CD players, two integrated amplifiers and two stereo receivers, all promising hi-fi performance on a budget.
2 Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 £350 whf.cm/bose700
The 700s, which will exist alongside Bose’s £289 QC35 II 2018 model, use a four-microphone system with 11 levels of noisecancellation to choose from. There’s a brand-new acoustic design, as well as motion sensors that detect body movement and allow sound to be tailored to the user’s activity.
3 Sony WH-XB900N £230 whf.cm/ SONYWHXB900N
While Bose is focusing on a higher price point, Sony’s wireless noise-cancellers aim low in both cost and sonic frequency. The WH-XB900NS are the latest additions to the brand’s Extra Bass range, with a 30-hour battery life, quick charging and touch controls. One for bass fans, then.
4 Jamo Concert 9 II Series £350-£900 whf.cm/jamoconcert9
Having given its long-standing Studio 8 speaker range an update last year, Jamo is now turning its attention to its Concert 9 series. The six-strong range spans standmounts, floorstanders, a centre and a dedicated surround speaker, all of which use Hybrid Composition Conical Cone (HCCC) drivers and silk-dome tweeters.
5 Vizio SB362AN £149 whf.cm/viziosb362an
Vizio, one of the USA’S leading TV and soundbar brands, is bringing its audio range to the UK for the first time, beginning with its SB362AN soundbar. With DTS Virtual:x virtual height and surround sound technology and Bluetooth, its spec sheet looks a whole lot more impressive than its rather mundane product name.
