INSIDER TOP FIVE
Ifi’s streamer, a Dali speaker, Sennheiser earbuds, Dynaudio’s Emit speaker range and Klipsch soundbars – five new product launches this month
1 Klipsch Cinema 1200
£1499 Klipsch’s flagship soundbar measures a whopping 137cm wide, serves up an impressive 120W of power and functions as a Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 surround-sound system out of the box, thanks to its upwards-firing Atmos speakers, a 30cm wireless subwoofer and a pair of wireless surround modules. Next-generation HDMI EARC and 8K passthrough with support for Dolby Vision HDR is on board, while, on the music streaming side, there is support for Alexa, Google Assistant, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth. whf.cm/cinemasoundbars
2 Dali Katch G2
£329 As Bluetooth speakers go, the original Dali Katch was memorable – and not just because of its name. When it was released in 2016, it sounded so good for its size and price we gave it a What Hi-fi? Award in the wireless speaker category. The all-new Dali Katch G2 brings a raft of improvements to the familiar design, with the aim of making it stand out in an even more competitive market. The Katch G2 now includes a bigger battery, wider Bluetooth support and tweaks to the audio design. whf.cm/kg2
3 Sennheiser CX True Wireless
£120 Last September, Sennheiser launched the CX 400BT as a more affordable alternative to its premium Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds. The company is now going even more affordable, to take on the competition at the lower end of the market too. The CX earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.2 with SBC, AAC and aptx support; 27 hours’ total battery life; IPX4 water resistance; and Sennheiser’s Smart Control App with a built-in EQ. whf.cm/cxtw
4 ifi Zen Stream
£399 Described as a ‘wi-fi audio transport’, the Zen Stream promises high-performance music streaming for any audio system. It connects to a router via wi-fi or ethernet cable and outputs to either an external DAC or an amplifier with digital inputs, via USB or SPDIF. You can stream directly from Spotify and Tidal apps with Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, and there’s also support for Roon, DLNA, Airplay and, soon, Google Chromecast. whf.cm/zenstream
5 Dynaudio Emit
From £600 Five years after waltzing into our test rooms and making a huge impression, Dynaudio’s entry-level Emit speaker series enters its next generation. It’s a model-for-model replacement, with Dynaudio also expanding the range with a larger floorstander. The new Emits borrow technology from the next range up Evoke series, including the Cerotar tweeter and MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) mid/bass driver and woofer. A new dual-flared bass-reflex port has been optimised to reduce unwanted air turbulence, too. whf.cm/emitrange
