Hymer reveals 4x4 CrossOver models

-

Hymer has launched two new special edition CrossOver models – one campervan and one low-profile – reflecting growing demand from customers for four-wheel drive vehicles.

The ML-T 570 motorhome and Grand Canyon S campervan are both built on the 4x4 version of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Standard equipment on these models is said to be extremely comprehensive and includes a solar installation to help increase self-sufficiency to up to 10 days. Several visual highlights, such as the all-terrain tyres, further emphasise the striking looks of the CrossOver editions.

Hymer says it has launched these special models because more people are opting to head further from typical campsites and want more capable leisure vehicles, including those that can cope with rougher terrain and can be used for longer without the need for hook-up.

The exterior of the two models is characterised by an off-road look with special CrossOver design graphics. This look is backed up by the increased ground clearance of the four-wheel drive Sprinter, as well as black 16in wheels and an LED lightbar above the cab. A unique highlight on the ML-T is a spare wheel on the outer rear wall, as well as its roof rack with rear ladder. Details such as the tool kit, including a folding spade and axe, add the finishing touches to the CrossOver editions.

In the interior, the ML-T 570 also features new anthracite-coloured overhead locker doors, as well as a new grey table and counter surface finish. Handy net pockets underneath the overhead lockers also ensure that everything can be stowed away within easy reach and securely, even when off-roading.

Hymer says that both vehicles can remain selfsufficient for up to 10 days, all year round, when carrying a typical load in normal conditions. The ML-T 570 CrossOver comes with an autonomy package, including a 6kW diesel heater with an electric element, as well as an altitude kit that enables the heating to continue to be used at locations with an altitude of over 1,500m. Also fitted is the Hymer Smart Battery System, with two lithium batteries and an inverter, as well as twin 90W solar panels on the roof.

The Grand Canyon S CrossOver also features an autonomy package as standard, although with just a single solar panel.
