Have you ever noticed that, when people are asked what animal they’d like to be, it’s always something proud and showy? A lion, or peacock, perhaps. Never a mouse or cockroach, and certainly not a sheep – heavens, no! However, how often have you been out on a cold walk, or sat in your campervan, on a dreary day and noticed how content sheep are, regardless of the weather? Yes, it’s true they have tiny brains, but they are also toasty warm under those giant cloud fleeces.

Clearly, this is something Berghaus has picked up on, because the Tahu jacket offers all the benefits of being a sheep in winter without the embarrassment of becoming one. The Tahu is a dense Polartec fleece that feels sheepskin-like both inside and out, so it can be worn over a T-shirt. There are hand-warmer pockets with zips, a soft chin guard, and ripstop fabric around the shoulders to stop rucksack straps from chafing. It’s so cosy that our tester has since moved to Narnia to enjoy the perpetual winter there.
