Built when Hymer’s reputation for quality made it stand head and shoulders above most rivals, and equipped with a spacious rear lounge layout that ought to have had UK buyers salivating on the spot, the B634 is nevertheless quite a rare find. Perhaps it was just too expensive when new?

That’s not a problem now, as this 51k-mile example shows. That roomy rear seating area still looks as appealing as ever and, unlike in most rivals of its day, you won’t have to convert it into a bedroom. Just pull down the A-class bed in the cab and leave the lounge ready for breakfast. German luxury with a British twist.
