Itineo SC700

Only 7m long yet with a super-versatile kids’ zone

-

French marque, Itineo, not only specialises in affordable A-class motorhomes but it has a particular emphasis on family-friendly vehicles, including three bunk bed models for this season. New this year is the SC700, which is unique on the market.

It’s at the very rear where this model is a oneof-a-kind design, with a small dinette, a garage and two bunk beds all sharing the same space. When arranged as a dinette, there’s a single inward-facing seat on each side with a table mounted on the back wall. A low cupboard alongside provides an additional surface with the essential USBs and a 230V socket.

The rear seats also fold away to create a huge garage – 590mm wide and up to 1.84m high with a weight limit of 150kg. There’s an optional exterior shower here, too, to hose off muddy items before loading them on board. Then, at night, it’s all change again as, with the turn of a key and flick of a switch, two bunk beds (each measuring 1.97m by 0.70m) lower from the ceiling. Each bed has its own opening window and an LED light, as well as a Bultex Comfort mattress.

Parents will sleep in the drop-down bed in the cab and, even with this lowered, the lounge’s two generous side sofas are still available for relaxation. With the bed stowed, this area could easily seat seven, while for travel, the benches convert into two forward and one rear-facing seat.

Spec includes an oven/grill, 149-litre fridge/ freezer and Truma gas/electric heating. It’s hard to imagine how they got so much into a 7m ’van!
