SMC INVESTS £1.75M IN NEW SHOWROOM AND WORKSHOP

SMC Motorhomes in Newark, which is celebrating its 50th year in business, has invested £1.75m in a new showroom, workshops and customer lounge, as well as expanding its bodyshop. The business acquired premises next door to allow for the expansion into what is now a three-acre site with a 10-bay workshop, increased customer parking, a 50-vehicle showroom and a display area for treble the number of used vehicles outside.

“My father started the company as a vehicle repair centre in 1971,” said SMC’s MD, Gavin Briggs-Price. “We are immensely proud, as a family, to announce the acquisition of VW Centre Newark for redevelopment, significantly expanding our operation. This will double our current footprint and enable us to grow our business substantially. The DNA of the SMC core values will remain – the customer experience is at the very heart of our business model.”
