2014 HYMERCAR SYDNEY
It’s a pop-top campervan, but not as we know it! When Hymer launched its new campervan range in 2013, the Sydney, and its VW-based sister model, the Cape Town, were the versions that got all the attention. Despite the usual rearhinged roof, the layout here wasn’t the typical side kitchen arrangement. Instead, the galley was at the back, and the bed – uniquely – unfolded over the top of it. Not only that, but the Sydney boasted five automotive-style travel seats, making it a great passenger-carrying vehicle, and the Fiat base allowed a much more spacious interior than the equivalent VW. Just remember that, roof down, the Ducato-based Hymer is quite a lot taller, too.
