OK, we admit it, we were drawn to these boots because they look cool and, although they’re £170, that’s what Christmas is all about, isn’t it, asking for things you wouldn’t buy for yourself because they’re too extravagant (but not minding if they are a gift).

Both men’s and women’s boots come in grey or black, which sounds pretty dull, but bright flashes of colour and two-toned designs mean that they are anything but. You can definitely stand out from the hill-walking hordes up Snowdon in these. As with all outdoor gear blurb, we didn’t understand half of the terms, but the top half around the upper ankle is neoprene for comfort and the boots are fully waterproof, with a breathable mesh lining to reduce heat, plus there’s memory foam cushioning in the footbed (we think this means sole). Our second Etsy item this month (our compiler seems to be using this Christmas gift guide as an excuse to binge-trawl Etsy) is a lovely little UK adventure map where you can log your adventures. This A3 map is made out of high-quality card and can be ordered plain, or personalised with your name. The lovely part of this map is the add-on stickers to document where you’ve been. Simply add the map to your basket and then return to the shop to add your choice of stickers: motorhomes, campervans, converted vans, tents, caravans and more.
