A Hymer A-class for the price of a basic campervan? Of course, it’s a dozen years old and has 55k miles under its belt. It’s a CL, from Hymer’s slightly less prestigious range, but this is still a B-Class – arguably, one of Europe’s top motorhomes. The layout has loads going for it, too. Not only is there an island bed at the rear but also a drop-down double for trips with the grandkids. And, with a good-sized garage and 3,850kg chassis, there’s capacity to cope with a long European tour, too.

It’s left-hand drive, so surely the Continent beckons? And on the autoroutes, the 3-litre engine will make for effortless cruising. There’s a big fridge/freezer to keep the cheese and wine chilled and an awning to give you shade from the Mediterranean heat as well.
