Sunlight unveils new Ford-based coachbuilts

-

Dethleffs’ budget brand, Sunlight, has launched its 2024 season range almost 12 months ahead of when the models would normally go on sale in the UK. During the press launch, it announced three new Ford-based low-profiles and a raft of spec changes, as well as the deletion of one existing model, the T 69 L.

The only significant new model for 2023 was the Ford-based Cliff 4x4 campervan but this is still on hold for the UK and it could be between 12 and 24 months before issues with right-hand drive chassis supply are resolved.

What we will get here, though, are three allnew 3,500kg Ford Transit-based T-series lowprofiles and a new Fiat-based T 68 C layout, which has a front parallel sofa lounge and twin beds at the rear.

The new Ford-based models are the T 670 S, T 680 and the T 690 L – all come in Adventure Edition spec. The T 670 S is 6.99m long, while the longer pair are 7.36m (all three are 2.32m wide and 2.93m high). Each model comes with a metallic black cab and black alloy wheels.

The standard spec includes an overcab sunroof, a 156-litre three-way fridge/freezer, framed windows and twin garage doors. Beds come with high-quality cold foam mattresses and premium wooden slatted frames. Interior headroom is 2.10m.

The T 670 S features Sunlight’s space-saving Vario washroom and has four travel seats and either two or four berths (rear single beds plus an optional drop-down double above the front lounge). The T 690 L features a rear island bed with the option of up to five travel seats and five berths, while the T 680 is similar but with twin beds. Each model has an L-shaped settee up front but only the two longer ’vans also have a single side seat in their lounge area.

The interiors and exteriors of all Sunlight models have also been redesigned. New accents are offered on furnishings, while the interiors are now available in a choice of Black Flow, Cozy Cottage and Dyna White. New laminates have been used, as well as Mountain Lodge flooring. On the exterior, 2024 models get an automotive-style rear light mounting, with a single light bar extending over the full width.
