New at the NEC

The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show returns to the NEC, Birmingham, from 13 to 18 February, when a number of new models will make their debut.

Perhaps the most significant newcomer will be the all-new Coachman Sportivo motorhome. This is anticipated to sit in the range below the existing Travel Master, while still using a Mercedes Sprinter chassis, and it follows the October launch of the company’s flagship A-class Imperial.

From VW T6.1 camper specialist, Ecowagon, comes its first larger model, based on the Fiat Ducato. It’s expected to have the same topquality fittings and design as the company’s award-winning Expo+.

Meanwhile, first-time exhibitor, Kaktus, will be showing its new Dune, which is built on a MAN TGE six-metre panel van with a roof pod to create extra height/light and side pods with windows on both sides to create extra width in the rear transverse over-garage double bed.

Project Yonder (photos top and right) is another new exhibitor, competing in the same marketplace for high-end 4x4 campervans. It will reveal its brand-new seven-metre Mercedes Sprinter campervan, the Freedom 4X, at the show and says this gas-free model is designed for off-grid touring. Then, from Slovenia, comes a campervan that’s completely new to the UK. Robeta is launching its Mercedes Sprinter-based Adonis (see photo left). Another upmarket, fixed bed model, this is a 5.93m-long campervan that’s available with rear or all-wheel drive. It has innovative features such as a ‘hidden’ pull-out sink, a macerator toilet and a bathroom with 180-degree ‘doublewinged’ glass door which also serves as a night-time partition.

Other campervan brands confirmed for the show include Adria, Bilbo’s, Bodans, Bailey, Danbury, Dirty Weekender, Dreamer, Hillside, Malibu, Murvi, Rolling Homes, RP Motorhomes, Sherwood Campers, Swift, Vanworks, Ventura and WildAx.

Among the motorhomes on display will be vehicles from Adria, Auto-Trail, Auto-Sleepers, Bailey, Coachman, Chausson, Eura Mobil, Frankia, Pilote, Rapido, and Roller Team.
