A series of disappointments lead the medic to walk out of Holby…
With the future of Holby still uncertain, Fredrik seems more concerned about his own prospects at the hospital this week. And when things don’t turn out quite how he had planned, the doctor’s dark side is revealed.
Defeated
Fredrik’s placement is about to end, so he’s disappointed to learn fellow medic Dominic Copeland has won the junior doctor prize. He tries to be gracious in defeat, but is annoyed as his dad, Holby boss Henrik Hanssen, heaps praise on his rival.
Fredrik’s reassured, though, when it seems he has an ally in Nina, who recently confided in him that she was secretly pregnant, and her ex, Matteo, is the father, and the pair bonded as Fredrik promised to keep her secret.
As Nina continues to be impressed by his instinct and ambition, she urges Fredrik to apply for a registrar job. So Fredrik fumes when Hanssen then reveals that Holby’s on a recruitment freeze!
When Fredrik reports back to Nina and she reassures him that he would have been an asset to the hospital, he mistakes her kindness for something more…
