Tension builds between Louisa and Spiro, but will they give in to passion?
The circus comes to Corfu in the last episode of The Durrells this week, which means Louisa’s four children are fully occupied, leaving her more time to spend with handsome taxi driver, Spiro!
Mutual attraction
Spiro’s wife recently took their children to Athens to figure out what she wants from her marriage. And, while Spiro undoubtedly respects his wife and loves his children, left alone with Louisa he’s finding it impossible to hide his true feelings for the English single mum.
‘Spiro doesn’t know if his wife is coming back or if he’s getting a divorce,’ reveals Alexis Georgoulis, who plays him. ‘He and Louisa have always had a great mutual attraction and now they’re even closer!’
Everyone notices that Spiro is spending most of his time at the Durrells’ villa and the chemistry between him and Louisa is sizzling. With the two of them under the same roof, it looks as if romance may be finally on the cards…
‘Louisa and Spiro have fiery moments, but I think they’re very compatible,’ says Alexis, who’s a big star in Greece.
Family favourite
But if Spiro and Louisa give in to their desires will Louisa’s children approve?
‘I think he belongs to this family. In one of my first scenes one of the children said to their mum, “You should marry Spiro!”’ explains Alexis, who’s tightlipped about how things end. ‘We have to keep it a secret! It’s funny and romantic. It’s my favourite episode!’
