Aidan dies!

As Eva confesses about the baby, tragedy strikes

-

The Connors are celebrating Johnny and Jenny’s move to Spain. But someone’s just not really into it and that’s Aidan. He’s not been himself for weeks.

Nonetheless, the party is happening at The Rovers and the star guest is baby Susie. No one has a clue that the newborn is actually Eva and Aidan’s child rather than Toyah and Peter’s surrogate’s. But Aidan’s about to find out the painful truth.

As Susie is passed around the pub, Toyah panics and jumps in before she’s handed to Aidan.

‘Toyah is acting really weird around him. He can’t work out why. Aidan tells her that the baby is beautiful and she gives him a strange look,’ says Shayne Ward, who plays Aidan. ‘He and Toyah lock eyes and he sees it. The truth dawns on him that it’s his baby.’

After a poignant cuddle with his daughter, Aidan then arrives at Eva’s cottage hideaway…

‘Aidan is not there to have it out with Eva, he just wants to see her,’ says Shayne. ‘When he says he has seen the baby, she panics and apologises, but Aidan says she has nothing to apologise to him for. Aidan tells her what she is doing with the baby is the right thing.’

When Aidan leaves, Eva hopes for a reconciliation when she sees he’s left her engagement ring.

But it’s not to be. The next day, Aidan fails to open the factory and, after entering his flat, dad Johnny discovers he’s taken his own life…

‘I feel that it was because of all the problems that he caused,’ says Shayne of the shock storyline. ‘Talking about it could have helped Aidan to turn his life around.’
