Margot shot to worldwide fame in 1978 for her role as ace reporter Lois Lane in Superman, with Christopher Reeve. She starred in four Superman movies in total, the last in 1987.

The Canadian actress was the star of horror classic The Amityville Horror in 1979, with James Brolin and Rod Steiger. She also appeared in TV shows including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Smallville and RL Stine’s Haunting Hour, which won her an Emmy in 2015.

Family life…

Margot died on 13 May at her home in Livingston, Montana, aged 69. She is survived by her daughter, Maggie, and also two grandchildren.
