The Haunting of Hill House
A classic horror tale is revisited in this scary Netflix series…
There are frights and dark twists throughout supernatural horror tale The Haunting of Hill House as it follows a family who lived in a haunted house that became famous all over America.
It starts many years ago, when Hugh Crain and his five children are forced to flee the spooky mansion in the middle of the night after his wife Olivia goes missing in terrifying circumstances.
Years later, the siblings are now adults and despite trying to get on with their lives, a devastating event brings the ghosts of their past back to haunt them.
‘It is about a family that went through some horrific events,’ says British star Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who plays youngest sibling, Luke Crain, in the present day. ‘We find out how living in the house left them broken. They all made it out alive, but they can never really escape!’
Traumatised
Luke has never recovered from his childhood and has become a drug addict… ‘What happened affected Luke and his twin sister Nell the most,’ explains Oliver.
The 10-part series is a reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s legendary novel from the 1950s and also stars Henry Thomas, who rose to fame as a child star playing Elliott in
1982’s hit movie ET, as Luke’s father.
‘I didn’t have any scenes with Henry, because he plays my father in the past,’ says Oliver. ‘But I was excited to meet him because I loved ET when I was a kid!’
