Wedding day disaster!
Two weddings are planned… but will anyone make it down the aisle?
Love has been in the air at Holby, with two couples set to tie the knot. But the course of true love never runs smooth and, this week, it looks like neither couple will be saying ‘I do’!
Last week, medic Dominic Copeland and his partner, nurse Ben ‘Lofty’ Chiltern (Lee Mead), were all set to get wed then jet off to Hawaii on honeymoon.
But then Lofty feared they were rushing things and called it off.
‘Dom really wanted this fresh, wonderful relationship with Lofty but, from the start, it feels like they’ve had to face hurdle after hurdle,’ says David Ames, who plays Dom. Unsure of how to address the issue, things are very awkward between the pair at work on Keller Ward. Desperate for them to reunite, Dom puts on a very public display of affection – but Lofty’s left mortified and flees the ward!
Meanwhile, Holby porter Jason Haynes and his girlfriend, Greta, are forced to put their big day on hold when registrar Lexy Morrell is injured in a freak accident and is unable to officiate the ceremony.
Second chance
Dom doesn’t know how to patch things up with Lofty and, hoping for inspiration, he talks to Greta, who makes Dom realise life is better when you have someone to share it with…
‘After a terrible track record of partners, Dom is now with someone pure and wonderful,’ says David. ‘Dom needs to feel a bit of security and love, and he knows he has that in Lofty.’
