Let’s party!
Nadiya Hussain rustles up her favourite celebration treats…
Party season is upon us, but catering for a big get-together doesn’t have to be daunting, as Nadiya Hussain proves in this one-off show featuring her favourite celebration dishes.
‘For me a party just isn’t a party without food!’ admits the former Bake Off winner. ‘I love it when the party gets going, everyone chatting and tucking in. That’s the time I like to stand back watch and listen and it all feels worth it!’
Family favourite
As well as cooking chilli with jalapeño cornbread, Brussels sprout coleslaw, halloumi chips and chocolate éclair roll, Nadiya shares her recipe for her family’s top party dish: ‘My sticky lamb ribs are my family’s all-time favourite – as soon as I start thinking about them I get hungry!’ she laughs.
But Nadiya isn’t just making food for her own party. She’s also helping people across the UK celebrate what’s important to them, including the children of Littleton
Green Community School.
They’re baking cupcakes for a surprise party to say thank you to 95-year-old widower Jack Neville, who has given up his free time to read with them every day for eight years.
‘Jack had no idea what they were planning,’ says Nadiya. ‘The kids put so much love into their cupcakes. They created a magical surprise Jack will remember forever.’
