Daz’s escape plan
Following the hit-and-run, guilty Daz tries to do a runner!
Last week, Daz Spencer made the reckless decision to drive home after he’d been drinking.
He’d found his car in a field and, at the time, had no idea it had been stolen and joyridden by
Leanna Cavanagh and Noah Dingle, who’d roped Daz’s daughter, Amelia, into joining in, too.
That night, after a quick nap in his motor, groggy Daz buckled up and set off. But
en route, Noah’s discarded mobile phone rang inside the car, distracting him. He took his eyes off the road and hit something. When Daz got out, he saw a body lying on the tarmac, panicked – and then ran.
Now, in the cold light of day, he is riddled with guilt. And so is Amelia. Unaware that her biological dad was driving the car at the time, the teenager is terrified that she, Leanna and Noah will be blamed for the crime, as they went joyriding in the car that night.
As Dan and Kerry try to reassure the terrified teen that the police will find the true culprit, Daz fails to speak out and instead allows his young daughter to panic.
Later, having decided to flee, Daz is on board a bus headed for the airport when he spots Kerry collapsed in the road. Unable to ignore his sister-inlaw’s plight, he rushes to help her, knowing he will miss his flight.
After getting diabetic Kerry to the doctor, Daz makes a second attempt to run but is caught by a puzzled Amelia, who demands to know what on earth he’s doing…
