Jeremy Clarkson and co take on more globetrotting adventures as The Grand Tour returns

-

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are back on the road for more full-throttle races in the third season of The Grand Tour.

Among this year’s destinations are Nevada, Mongolia and Colombia. ‘Mongolia was my favourite place,’ says Jeremy. ‘We drove for six days with only a compass and we didn’t see a single person, village or telegraph pole – no evidence at all that man had existed. It was stunning. The only problem was that the producers didn’t pack a single drop of alcohol…’

There’s one big difference to the show this year: there are no studio guests. ‘Amazon can see what people are watching minute by minute and they said viewers were skipping those bits,’ explains Jeremy. ‘So the films are more lavish now as we have more time.’

The series kicks off with a trip to Detroit, where the lads turn an abandoned car factory into a race track. This year, the trio also managed to avoid any scary dashes to A&E.

‘We’ve done a whole series without injury,’ says Jeremy. ‘Although I nearly cut my finger off at one point!’
