Mick and Linda’s marriage reaches breaking pointÉ

- bbc.co.uk/eastenders

The start of the new year has not been the happiest for Mick Carter. The pub landlord has so far failed to boot his hated former friend Stuart Highway out of Albert Square, after Stuart framed Mick for a shooting at The Vic and he was sent to prison.

Mick is also finding it hard to accept how close his wife, Linda, and Stuart got while he was behind bars, even though it was all part of Linda’s elaborate plan to trick a confession out of Stuart about his previous crimes.

Mick snaps

This week, Mick tries to distract himself by helping Mitch Baker coach the local football team. But it’s not long before Linda starts lecturing her husband about his responsibilities at The Vic.

Linda’s then taken aback by Mick’s snappish behaviour and is shocked when she later finds him an emotional wreck and realises that he is struggling to keep things together.

When Linda demands to know what’s going on, she’s left reeling as Mick drops some shock home truths about his time in prison...

‘The big thing that Mick comes back with is, “You left me in prison and I didn’t know what on Earth was going on. How could you do that to me?”,’ explains Kellie Bright, who plays Linda. ‘So what happens is very testing for their relationship.’

Can Mick and Linda’s marriage survive another almighty row?

‘Linda might seem a bit like Barbie on the outside but inside she’s tough,’ says Kellie. ‘The fallout could have a much bigger impact on her than she thinks.’
