Having found out that DI Malone is a bent copper, Harriet has a decision to make. Will she shop him?
The village vicar was stunned when she uncovered the truth, having asked her ‘police contact’ Malone if her boyfriend Will was working with his old gang. Ever the crook, ganglord Malone assured Harriet there was nothing to know! It was only when Harriet later pressured Will that Malone’s secret was exposed.
This week, the dodgy DI is desperate for the truth to stay buried, and swears he’s done with Billy, Cain and Will.
However, with Harriet having been repeatedly lied to, she doesn’t believe him and decides to call the police to tell them they have a criminal on the payroll!
‘She is worried about how far he is willing to go to get his own way, and what damage he is willing to inflict,’ says Katherine Dow Blyton, who plays her.
Point of no return
Will Harriet go through with it, though? The torn vicar knows there will be consequences for Will, her ex Cain and Billy, too.
Seething about the situation, Harriet visits Will in hospital, where she tears strips off him. Raging about the danger he’s brought to their door, she reminds the guilt-racked dad that his crimes could see his daughter Dawn’s son Lucas put back into foster care.
Has furious Harriet reached the point of no return with boyfriend Will, who has stuffed up time and time again?
Later, Harriet meets up with DI
Malone again, where it becomes clear there is more to their argument and to their past…
