Hospital dash!
With Shirley having found Jean having a seizure, it’s action stations. Tina calls an ambulance while her sister deals with the poorly Slater gran. As onlooker Suki offers help, the paramedics arrive. Ever the chancer, Suki’s ears prick up as she overhears Shirley pass on all she knows about Jean’s health and meds… Has the scheming Panesar mum found out Kush has been ‘drugging’ Jean? fatal boat explosion, Ben has been in deafened torment ever since. The problem has shrouded his life in misery and his frustration over his predicament has put him at odds with his loved ones.
Dilemma
Now, in hospital, having had a row with Callum, who has stormed off, Ben is waiting to be prepped for surgery when, much to his relief, his boyfriend returns.
On edge, Ben is desperate to get the procedure over and done with, but he’s hiding something he knows could put paid to it going ahead.
When he finally admits to Callum and his mum,
Kathy, that he’s not feeling very well, they are duly concerned.
As Ben continues to prepare regardless, he’s devastated when the doctor, having conducted various tests, pulls the plug on the operation and confirms everyone’s fears – Ben is too ill to be anaesthetised.
Back in the Square, Phil seems more bothered about the sale of The Vic than his son’s operation. But with the pub purchase secretly relying on the job Phil’s got lined up, he’s anxious. However, when the dad learns Ben’s surgery has been rescheduled, his demeanour changes…
