Harriet Nimmo had a fantastic job as a charity CEO and a wonderful life in Bristol when an unexpected turn of events prompted her and her husband, Mike, to jack everything in and start a new life in South Africa.
A girl who worked for Harriet, called Sarah, tragically died from breast cancer and sadly hadn’t managed to do any of the things on her bucket list.

‘Ceaușescu was one of the nastiest guests the Queen ever had to endure,’ says biographer Robert Hardman. ‘The government was trying to suck up to him so he would buy some airliners, but it was the Queen who had to host him.’ The Ceaușescus proved disruptive guests and became convinced that the government had bugged their suite, so they would only speak to each other
in the palace gardens.
‘The Queen was out in her garden walking her corgis when she saw them approaching,’ explains Robert. ‘She was so desperate to avoid them that she hid behind a rose bush!’
With revelations of how President Donald Trump broke royal protocol and how President Ronald Reagan got too familiar, there are plenty of tales to enjoy.
‘However, the Queen never forgot the time Ceaușescu came to stay,’ says Robert. ‘She referred to him as “That horrid little man” for years afterwards!’
