Vinny learns the secret Paul and Mandy tried to hide…
When Paul walked out of his son Vinny’s life all those years ago, Mandy Dingle vowed that she would continue to raise the little boy on her own, and she’s stayed true to her word. Although Vinny knows she’s not his biological mum, he hasn’t a clue who his dad is and can’t remember him anyway.
Mandy hoped she’d never see Paul again, so when he appeared in the village a while back, she was horrified. She tried to get rid of Paul but the dad sneakily stuck around, clocked Vinny and has become friends with him posing as ‘Alex’.
‘Vinny has started working in the scrapyard and “Alex” has come along and he’s clueless that he’s his dad,’ says Bradley Johnson, who plays the lad. ‘Vinny thinks he may have found a friend in Alex – he hasn’t got a true friend in the village yet.’
Suspicious
But the exes’ web of lies comes unstuck this week when ‘Alex’ slips up and makes a comment that clearly reveals he knows Mandy. Although Paul tries to fudge, Vinny’s suspicious.
Having cottoned on to
Paul’s deception, Mandy is one step ahead and is determined to sort it. But her plan backfires when she lures Paul to meet her and they’re busted by Vinny!
He wants answers, but while Mandy tries to cover, Paul blurts out the truth…
Bradley says: ‘Vinny has never had a father figure, so it’s quite a big thing. It’s always just been him and Mandy.’
Hurt and betrayed, Vinny disappears. Will he come back?
