Celebrity couples and families who’ve been stuck together during lockdown talk telly on their sofas. Among those sharing their views on the big TV shows, films and news items of the week are Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash.

Denise Van Outen was a big hit when she appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox last year, and she’ll be letting the cameras back into her living room for the second series this week.

The TV presenter and her partner, Eddie, entertained millions with their funny comments and couldn’t wait to welcome viewers into their home again.

‘We had so much fun doing the first series,’ says Denise. ‘Eddie and I always do a running commentary when we watch TV anyway, so we’re just doing what we’d do on a normal night in. There’s also no film crew, so you soon forget you’re being filmed!’

Denise is used to life in the limelight, yet being recognised has been a new experience for her boyfriend.

‘Eddie went shopping and two ladies followed him around for ages,’ explains Denise. ‘He thought they were store detectives getting ready to pounce, but they’d seen him on the show and wanted a selfie. He was also given extra chips at our local chippy, which he was very chuffed about!’

The former host of The Big Breakfast is featured in this week’s first episode, alongside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash, in a bid to help raise the country’s spirits during the coronavirus pandemic.

‘I’ve lost two friends to

COVID-19 in the last couple of months, so the lockdown has felt very real in our house,’ says Denise, who lives with

Eddie and her 10-year-old daughter, Betsy. ‘But I’ve also been helping make scrubs as an NHS volunteer and it’s helped to have something to do.’

Like most people, Denise is watching more TV than ever, and after taking part in The Masked Singer earlier this year, she says she can’t wait for the upcoming American series.

‘Doing The Masked Singer was bonkers and brilliant,’ she explains. ‘I didn’t tell a soul, including Eddie and Betsy, so they had the shock of their lives when I took off my fox mask!’
