First shown as a pilot for BBC2 in 2017, this comedy now returns for a full series. When her father dies, Catherine Walcott discovers she has a secret half-sister – also named Catherine Walcott. Uptight Cathy (The Windsors’ Ellie White) and chilled-out Cat (Misfits’ Lauren Socha) couldn’t be more different – but now they’re a part of each other’s lives, and they’ve got a lot of catching up to do. Rebecca Front and Siobhan Finneran also star as Cathy and Cat’s mums.

After the sudden death of her father Colin, Catherine Walcott and her mother Tess meet two unexpected mourners at his funeral – his mistress Marilyn and her daughter Cat.

‘Marilyn’s been aware of Tess’ existence the entire time,’ says Siobhan Finneran, who plays her. ‘So she hasn’t been dealt the kind of blow that Tess has been – that she’s lost goes with that, but there’s also a kind of fascination,’ explains Benidorm star Siobhan. ‘She has a genuine desire to meet this woman who she knows Colin loved and spent his life with.’

This week’s first episode aired as a pilot on BBC2 three years ago, and will be followed by new episodes in the coming weeks. the love of her life and he’s been cheating on her for 30 years.’

Though Tess (Rebecca Front) initially rejects her husband’s other family, Marilyn is keen to get to know these people she’s only heard about.
