Otto Farrant plays schoolboy spy Alex Rider in this adaptation of Anthony Horowitz’s hit novels. The mysterious death of Alex’s uncle (Broadchurch’s Andrew Buchan) draws the teenager into the world of espionage when he is sent on a risky mission to the Alps. Look out for Line of Duty star Vicky Mcclure as Alex’s handler Mrs Jones.

BBC1’S eight-part cat-and-mouse thriller The Serpent follows serial killer Charles Sobhraj, who murdered up to 20 young Western travellers across Asia in the 1970s. Billy Howle plays junior diplomat Herman Knippenberg, who sought to bring Sobhraj to justice, while Ellie Bamber is his wife Angela.

The six-part Australian comedy series LOL: Last One Laughing is hosted by Hollywood actor Rebel Wilson. This Amazon Prime Video show features 10 Aussie comedians as they compete to make each other laugh first for a cash prize.

Celebrate Britain’s unsung places and people in C4’s Tom Allen Goes to Town. Each week, Tom hosts a comedy show from a different regional venue in front of an audience of locals. Will there be some good old-fashioned heckling?

Hillary is a four-parter on Sky Documentaries in which former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton opens up about her life, discussing everything from political rival Donald Trump to her husband, ex-us President Bill Clinton.

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill will guest star as a mysterious figure from Laszlo’s past in season two of BBC2’S vampire comedy series What We Do in the Shadows. Mark’s hooded character sends Laszlo (Matt Berry) fleeing in fear.

Cate Blanchett leads the cast of BBC2’S political drama Mrs America, which tells the story of the movement to pass the US Equal Rights Amendment. Cate plays conservative Phyllis Schlafly, who led a backlash against ratification of the new law.
