Watch out, Dasha!
Villanelle and her mentor team up, but who will carry out the hit?
Villanelle’s loyalty to mentor Dasha is tested this week as the pair are forced to team up on a new assignment from The Twelve.
Having succeeded in her mission to get Villanelle (Jodie Comer) to rejoin the secret murderous organisation, exiled gymnast-turnedkgb hitwoman Dasha is now looking forward to returning to Russia.
Arriving in Scotland in search of their target, it’s clear Dasha can’t wait to see the back of Villanelle – and it seems the feeling is mutual…
Loyalty?
‘Dasha’s sway over Villanelle is to do with her connections, rather than any personal influence,’ says Dame Harriet Walter, who plays Dasha. ‘Their past relationship is something Dasha treasures a lot
more than
Villanelle does, I think.’
KILLING EVE Sunday, 9.15pm
BBC1 Drama
Dasha confides that she’ll miss killing people, so, as they spot their target on a golf course, Villanelle offers her the chance to carry out the hit. But Villanelle’s riled when Dasha suggests she just doesn’t have the guts to do it herself! Should Dasha be wary?
Fun to play
Last seen as a countess in Belgravia, Dame Harriet – who turns 70 later this year – has loved playing Dasha. ‘When you get older, sometimes you have to play the stickin-the-mud character who’s spoiling things for people,’ she says.
‘But Dasha is great because she’s like a naughty child! Also, I like the image of a woman who, at my age, is still fit, active and sporty.’
Episode 8 of Killing Eve will be
available on BBC iplayer from Mon 1 June
