Lockdown love shock!

Cooped up with Aaron, will Cain open up about his broken marriage?

-

Aseries of special episodes sees Emmerdale in lockdown. And it doesn’t come easy to Cain and Aaron Dingle stuck inside at Mill Cottage.

More likely to be seen propping up the bar at The Woolie than watching telly, it’s torture.

But while Aaron is more than up for discussing their new normals – with his marriage to Robert done for, and his uncle and aunt’s seemingly headed the same way – Cain is not interested. Well, not at first anyway…

Dodgy decision

However, the arrival of a letter changes everything.

When Cain notices that Aaron has prison-stamped post, clearly from Aaron’s jailed-for-life ex-husband Robert, he hides it.

‘Cain knows Aaron well and he fears he will overthink things and go down a rabbit hole,’ says Jeff Hordley, who plays him. ‘He is just scared that his nephew is going to react badly to this letter so he decides for better or for worse to hide it from him.’

It turns out definitely to be for the worse.

Home truths

A few drinks leads Cain to let slip about the letter and Aaron flips! Demanding Cain gives it him, Aaron explodes when his uncle admits he can’t remember where he put it. Lashing out, furious Aaron delivers some harsh home truths about Cain and Moira…

Will the gruff men make up? And will their opinions strike a chord? Might Aaron’s words push Cain to admit he still loves Moira and is making a mistake?

Teases Jeff: ‘Aaron carefully constructs a way to get Cain to open up. The pair shift significantly from how they are at the beginning to the end of the episode.’
