Ethan Hardy’s greatest wish is to settle down and have a family. But it’s a case of ‘be careful what you wish for’ this week when he’s shocked to discover he’s going to be a dad very soon!
Ethan and paramedic Fenisha Khatri (Olivia D’lima) had a one-night stand, which resulted in a pregnancy. Until now, Ethan believed Fenisha had a termination, but she’s been secretly keeping their unborn baby under wraps!
This week, Ethan and Fenisha are encouraged by departing doctor Will Noble (Jack Nolan) to open up to each other. After a patient is stabbed in the ED and Ethan rushes to protect Fenisha from the violent attacker, the pair admit their growing feelings.
They make a dinner date, where Fenisha plans to tell Ethan she’s seven months pregnant. Before she gets the chance, however, stunned Ethan reads a medical letter that reveals the truth.
Far from it being a wonderful surprise, Ethan feels betrayed. He storms off, but little does Fenisha know, Ethan has a bombshell of his own – the consultant has rare, inherited Huntington’s disease…
‘If Ethan wants anything, it’s a family. He really wants to settle down,’ explains George Rainsford, who plays him. ‘The big issue with the pregnancy is the Huntington’s. That’s the elephant in the room.
It’s a big, scary subject for him to discuss because nobody knows about it. Ethan’s got a big conversation to have with Fenisha!’
