★ Anthony Boyle and Toby Jones star in BBC2’S new drama Danny Boy. Based on the real-life experiences of Iraq veteran Brian Wood, it will tell the dramatic story of a former war hero who finds himself accused of murder.
★ Actor Frances Mcdormand plays a woman who leaves home in her van to travel around the American West as a modern-day nomad in the Star on Disney+ drama Nomadland.
★ Netflix epic fantasy series Shadow and Bone follows orphaned soldier Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), who becomes part of an elite army after discovering she has a power that could free her country.
★ After its cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Eurovision Song Contest will be back on BBC1 and broadcast live from Rotterdam. Getting another shot at representing the UK is James Newman with his song Embers.
