A wonderful world! The sewers take inspiration from around the globe…
THE GREAT BRITISH
SEWING BEE
Wed, 9pm BBC1 Entertainment
With nine remaining sewers in the competition, this week sees them tackling challenges with an international theme.
First up, they must create the perfect French Breton top, and later use sarongs in the Transformation Challenge. Meanwhile, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, famed for her bold artwork and bright colours, is the inspiration for the Made To Measure challenge.
‘Frida was a strong woman who had a great passion and that comes through in all her paintings and her embroidery,’ says Judge Esme Young. ‘I love her use of colours. The sewers do a great job and there
are plenty of surprises!’
