Playful and perfect!

Once bouncy Charlie recovers from surgery he’ll be an ideal dog for one lucky owner…

-

When 18-month-old border collie Charlie came to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, he had a dislocated hip which required surgery, but still had plenty of get-up-and-go.

‘When you’re a youngster who’s larger than life it takes a lot to bring you down,’ says Paul O’grady. ‘It’s like being hit by a Sherman tank but he’s funny.’

Adorable

Charlie is just one of the dogs that Paul meets in this last episode of the series, who are all looking for a forever home.

Paul loses his heart to gorgeous golden retriever Jasmine, who’s the perfect dog except for a medical condition that means she’s incontinent.

‘Someone will fall for her,’ says Paul. ‘She’s a beautiful dog. She just needs someone to love her, nappy and all.’

For energetic Charlie, it’s a case of surgery and hydrotherapy before he’s ready to be rehomed. He also needs physiotherapy and must carry out basic agility exercises to build up his strength.

‘He’s such a good lad,’ says Paul.

‘He’s a ball of energy. If he keeps up his exercises he’ll be running rings around everyone, God help them!’
