The time has come for an intervention at Mill Cottage, where Aaron is at a loss with Liv. Burdened by the guilt she feels over Paul’s death and unable to tell the full story to Vinny, Liv has reverted to an old crutch: drink.

‘She’s at a really low point. Liv’s struggling to open up and she’s dealing with an immense amount of guilt,’ says Isobel Steele, who plays her. But Liv is in denial.

‘She’s playing it down, she’s using the excuse that she’s an adult and she can drink now,’ explains Isobel. ‘Liv’s trying to forget about her past problem and play it as a fun drink.’

This week, Aaron’s mum, Chas, steps in when an ugly storm whips up between Aaron and his sister Liv.

With no booze at Mill Cottage, Liv ends up at The Woolpack, where she gets hammered and rolls home with a dodgy bloke called Max. Aaron is worried by the uncharacteristic scene, and even more so when Liv tells him to butt out and kicks him out.

Betrayal

In the morning, Aaron wakes up at his mum Chas’ in utter despair. When Paddy urges Aaron not to give up on his sister, his mum Chas decides she’s got to do something to help.

Rocking up to Mill Cottage, Chas strides in, locks the door and takes Liv’s mobile phone from her.

‘Liv’s really angry when Chas arrives because she’s told

Aaron in confidence. It’s a massive betrayal, which will cause problems for them in the future. It’s the worst thing he could have done,’ says Isobel.

Will Chas’ coldturkey plan work?
