Audrey has been drinking excessively for months, and even recently ended up in hospital after an overdose of sleeping pills.
At the time, she claimed to medical staff that it was just a silly drunken mistake. But this week, during a special tea to celebrate her 82nd birthday, she admits to Rita, Ken and Roy that she tried to take her own life. With their support, she finally takes some positive steps and decides to reopen the salon, complete with an expensive makeover.
But when her son Stephen cottons on to her splashing the cash, he immediately pressurises her to sign the paperwork that would put him in sole charge of the family trust funds…
