Baby agony

Pregnant Charity and boyfriend Mackenzie are dealt a devastating blow…

-

When Charity told Mackenzie she was pregnant a few weeks ago, he was devastated to learn she didn’t want to be a mum again.

But after Mack made an impassioned plea for her to keep the baby, Charity changed her mind and agreed to see the pregnancy through.

As Mackenzie steps up, he’s touched when his sister, Moira, tells him he’s going to be a great father. But he’s unaware of the tragedy that is unfolding at home as Charity collapses in pain on the floor… When Mackenzie finds her, he rushes her to hospital.

‘He feels a sense of blind panic, peppered with denial, which comes from being naive and inexperienced in situations like this,’ explains

Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie.

‘He feels responsible as she’s in pain and he wants to be strong for her.’

At the hospital, the couple are left shell-shocked when a doctor breaks the news that the pregnancy is ectopic and therefore not viable.

As the couple are left to process the news, Charity psyches herself up for what will happen next…

Later, however, it becomes evident that Mackenzie isn’t as OK as he’s making out, while

Charity deals with her loss by trying to move on with normal life.

‘They deal with the trauma in different ways,’ says Lawrence. ‘He wants to talk about it and she doesn’t. It’s extremely difficult for both of them.’
