‘The family aren’t as much of a united front as Rachel would have everyone believe,’ says Shauna Macdonald, who plays Rachel. ‘Their past begins to haunt them.’
A mother’s fury
It’s clear Rachel and Danny don’t know everything about their children when teenage daughter Abbie visits Perez to tell him a secret that Connor asked her to keep from their parents. As Perez probes further, Rachel becomes angry, believing the cop is more interested in suspecting her family than looking for her son. ‘Rachel’s very strong and her sole focus is to find missing Connor,’ explains Shauna. ‘If that means she has to search for him herself, she will do just that. She’s not impressed with Perez – but it’s not personal, it’s situational.’
