Celebrities are disguised as amazing costumed characters, including Onomatopoeia, Tomato Sauce, Pearly King, Pig, Astronaut, Scissors, Cactus, Sea Slug and Candlestick, as they bust some dance moves in the studio. Footballer

Peter Crouch, famous for his robot-dance goal celebrations, joins the second series, alongside returning guessers Jonathan Ross, Davina Mccall and Oti Mabuse.

Joel Dommett hosts again!

Don your detective hats because The Masked Dancer returns to ITV this week! As 13 craftily costumed celebrities show off their slickest moves, the panel – and the viewers at home – must try to crack the clues and work out the secret identities of characters such as Scissors, Candlestick and Tomato Sauce.

New judge

Joel Dommett is back on hosting duties, with Jonathan Ross, Davina Mccall and Oti Mabuse all returning to the panel. Football legend Peter Crouch joins the team in place of Mo Gilligan, who had touring commitments but will return later as a guest panellist.

‘It’s very different to what I’ve done for most of my life!’ says Peter. ‘I’ve been used to being used as a substitute for a little bit at the end of my career, so I’m coming in for Mo and just trying to make an impact!’

‘Peter’s been brilliant,’ says Joel. ‘He’s so funny – he’s really not afraid to get involved. He’s been a wonderful panellist.’

Peter was keen to do The Masked

Dancer because his children are huge fans of the show – and they were thrilled when they got to join him at work…

Making an impact

‘I’ve played for lots of different football clubs, and for England, but the only thing they’ve ever asked me about is this show!’ says Peter. ‘They came down to the studio and met everyone – they still talk about it now! I think Pearly King was their favourite.’ ‘Pearly King’s the character that everyone enjoys most,’ says Joel. ‘He’s not the best dancer on the show but he’s really embracing it – we’re having fun!’
