Michel Roux is serving up French food without the frills in a second helping of French Country Cooking, running on both Discovery+ and Food Network from Thursday. The Michelin-starred chef of London restaurant Le Gavroche continues his journey in Provence, southern France, showcasing the simplicity of the region’s cuisine.
‘People associate French food with fine dining, but this is the simple food I cook at home,’ says Michel. ‘None of these dishes are overly fancy – they’re straightforward, using classic technique, and very French.
‘The series is peppered with anecdotes from my childhood and career,’ he adds. ‘Sitting with family, enjoying food, enjoying the moment – that’s what life’s about.’
