Best known for…

Darius came to fame in 2001 on Popstars with his rendition of Britney Spears’ …Baby One More Time. A year later, he finished third (behind Will Young and Gareth Gates) on the first series of Pop Idol.

Other achievements…

The singer/actor went on to launch a successful West End career with lead roles in Chicago, Guys and Dolls and Gone with the Wind. In 2010, he won the first series of Popstar to Operastar (pictured). He also appeared as himself in Hollyoaks.

Family life…

Darius died on 11 August, aged 41, at his home in Minnesota. He’d been married to actor Natasha Henstridge between 2011 and 2018.
