The quest to win the Glitterball trophy begins with the celebrities being paired up with their pro dancing partners. Among the famous faces are Corrie’s Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, Bros’ Matt Goss, Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, Eastenders’ James Bye and former footballer Tony Adams. Tess

Daly and Claudia Winkleman host, while the judging panel is made up of Shirley

Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood,

Motsi Mabuse and Anton

Du Beke.

It’s time to spray on the fake tan and shine those dancing shoes as 15 celebrities prepare to make their Strictly Come Dancing debuts…

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman host again as our famous faces find out which professional dancer they will be waltzing, jiving and quick-stepping with this series. Among those hot to trot are pop legend Matt Goss, Paralympic gold-medallist Ellie Simmonds and Eastenders actor James Bye.

‘Spray tans and sequins are a long way from my normal daily life playing Martin Fowler,’ says James. ‘I’m looking forward to putting on all the different costumes.

‘I have no real dance training at all, so it may take me longer to pick up routines but I’m going to give it everything. I want my three sons to see that anything’s achievable.’

While the live competition doesn’t begin until next week, the celebs will perform a group routine to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.

Inspirational

With Eastenders’ deaf actor Rose Aylingellis lifting last year’s Glitterball trophy, James is feeling the pressure…

‘Rose’s Strictly journey was one of the most inspirational things

I’ve ever watched on TV,’ he says. ‘Seeing Rose come out of herself to do what she did was incredible. She told me to embrace every minute and enjoy it. I’d be mad not to think about lifting the Glitterball!’
