Best known for…

Bill presented BBC Breakfast for 15 years, with his co-hosts including Sian Williams, Natasha Kaplinsky, Louise Minchin, Susanna Reid and Kate Silverton. He also appeared on Strictly in 2005, coming sixth with partner Karen Hardy.

Other achievements…

He joined the Songs of Praise presenting team in 2013 and had his own radio show on Classic FM. In 2016, he fronted the game show Think Tank. In 2019, he made the documentary Bill Turnbull: Staying Alive, after being diagnosed with cancer.

Family life….

Bill died from prostate cancer at his Suffolk home on 31 August, aged 66. He’s survived by wife Sarah and their three children.
