Charity roles On TV, she’s taken part in Soccer Aid and 2017’s Red Nose Day Actually. Keira explores her grandparents’ lives during World War Two and it turns out her grandfather, Mac, was a bit of a hero, not only working as a sonar operator with the Navy, where he listened out for U-boats, but also helping to save Irish Guards from a sinking ship. However, there’s tragedy, too, as Keira discovers Mac’s beloved younger brother Wilf was killed in action. ‘Sadly, my grandfather died before I was born,’ says Keira. ‘But his generation’s capacity to find humour, escapism and things to get them through was amazing.’
