She starred in the series between

1980 and 1991.

In 2008, she starred in ITV soap Echo Beach, and she played Greg Davies’ mum

Polly in the C4 sitcom Man Down (2013-2017). Her last TV outing was in an episode of Not Going Out earlier this year.

Family life…

Gwyneth died on 8 September after complications following a major operation for a perforated colon. She was 76 and is survived by her husband, Alan Leith. Lee Macdonald, AKA Grange Hill’s Zammo, tweeted: ‘What a wonderful lady. She was a massive part of my childhood. Sleep well, Gwyneth.’
