Missing and vulnerable!
It’s a race against time to find autistic teen Matthew….
Young Matthew from Stocksbridge in South Yorkshire has autism and relies on familiar routines to feel safe.
So when the 18-year-old fails to catch his normal bus home from college, his mum Becky knows something is wrong.
‘I don’t think for one minute that he’s all right,’ reveals Becky. ‘There’s something physically stopping him, otherwise he would be here.’
Concerned
Worse still, Matthew suffers from non-epileptic seizure syndrome, which means he has fits when he’s stressed.
This new series of Reported Missing follows South Yorkshire Police as they search for Matthew using CCTV, phone data, interviews and a helicopter. And concerns for his safety grow as it transpires that he was involved in an altercation before he vanished.
Rescue
Meanwhile, officers in Sheffield are searching for 29-year-old
Luke, who has autism and severe learning difficulties. Sense of dread… He’s walked out Matthew’s worried of his residential mum Becky care home, and it’s thought he might be heading to his parents’ home, five-and-a-half miles away. But parents Jo and Andrew are away on holiday, and with temperatures reaching 30°C, Luke’s family are frantic.
With the police using all the tools in their power, can these vulnerable missing people be traced?
‘My fear is that somebody has got hold of Luke,’ says his mum, Jo. ‘I don’t know what I would do. I’d blame myself.’
