The four-part series centres on Detective Toni Alma, played by Rarriwuy Hick, who returns to her home town of Perdar Theendar, a remote Aboriginal community she left as a child, to investigate a suspicious car accident. After such a long time away, Toni must work out how to balance the cultural sensitivities of the indigenous population with her role as a police officer determined to get to the truth.
