As the quarter-final hits the tent in The Great British Bake Off, the remaining bakers face a tough challenge with Pastry Week!
For the Signature, they make vol-au-vents with a sweet filling, before a tense Technical involving a whopping 29 ingredients. Then, for the epic Showstopper, they create a pie-based 3D scene inspired by a children’s story or nursery rhyme.
A place in next week’s semi-final is at stake, but who will win over judges Dame Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood and make it through?
‘One baker had a new way of making pastry and I took the recipe because I thought it was so good,’ reveals Dame Prue. ‘But, because this is the quarter-final, Paul and I are ruthless!’
