Tyrone lashes out in the fallout of The Gazette’s story about John Stape…
Fiz and Tyrone are still reeling from the news that The Weatherfield Gazette is serialising a book about killer John Stape, and this week the family begin to feel the repercussions of having the past raked up when the first extract is printed in the local rag…
‘They are both really upset about this situation,’ says Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone. ‘It’s yet another thing for them to deal with.’
Worried about how the story of Fiz’s evil ex will affect their daughter, Hope, Fiz and Tyrone are desperate to stop more of the story being printed and seek legal advice from Adam.
But it seems it may be too late when, as a result of the article, Hope’s classmates taunt her, and her parents get a call from her school saying that she’s gone missing.
Forbidden friend
Later, Fiz is relieved when she finds Hope with her friend Sam. But when Nick discovers what’s happened, he decides he doesn’t want his son hanging out with the daughter of a killer and forbids him from seeing Hope! When Tyrone gets home to find Fiz crying over the ban, he flies into a rage and heads over to Nick’s place, where he greets Sam’s dad with a punch that sends him flying!
‘Knowing Sam is Hope’s only friend,
Ty loses his rag,’ says Alan. ‘He wants to do something to help, but doesn’t know how. It’s not knowing what to do in these situations that makes him lash out.’
Unsurprisingly, Fiz is not impressed by Tyrone’s actions…
‘He’s disappointed with himself and realises that he’s messed up,’ says Alan. ‘He’s also worried how this situation will affect his relationship with Fiz. They have worked so hard to get back on track and he doesn’t want to ruin that.’
